Hilton school's superintendent search underway
Hilton Central School District Interim Superintendent of Schools C. Tod Eagle, former Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES District Superintendent, has announced that two community focus groups will be convened in an effort to gather community input into the Hilton School District's superintendent of schools search process. "The goal of the focus groups is to help build a profile of the qualities of an ideal candidate," said Mr. Eagle who is serving as search consultant. "The focus groups will meet Wednesday and Thursday, January 5 and 6 and district residents are invited to attend."
Hilton Schools' superintendent search calendar was established in October by the Board of Education. "Advertising - state, national and local - has begun," Eagle said. "The application deadline is February 4, 2005 with a starting date of July 1, 2005."
In addition to the focus groups, a survey will be mailed with the Hilton's schools' newsletter, the Insight on January 3 to all district residents. The community focus groups will be held January 5 at 7 p.m. at the Village Elementary School's Hazel Jenkins Cafeteria and January 6 at 7 p.m. in Northwood Elementary School's Multi-Purpose. The Village Elementary School is located at 100 School Lane, Hilton and Northwood Elementary School is located at 433 No. Greece Road, Greece.
According to district advertising for the position, "The Hilton Central School District Board of Education is seeking a qualified candidate for its superintendent of schools who is capable of fostering educational excellence. Successful candidates will be experienced administrators with a proven record of providing academic success for all students. The District seeks strategic thinkers and prudent fiscal leaders who are able to implement successful learning initiatives. Strong interpersonal skills along with a clear and concise ability to communicate are a must. A willingness to participate fully in the community is important."
