Spencerport hosts "Coach Chow" Holiday Classic

Roberts Wesleyan College, Wendy's Restaurants of Rochester, the American Cancer Society and Spencerport Central Schools host the 14th Annual "Coach Chow" Holiday Classic Girls Basketball Tournament on December 28 and 29 at Roberts Wesleyan College.

This year's tournament features Churchville-Chili, Gates Chili, Brockport and host, Spencerport.

Games on Tuesday, December 28 feature Churchville-Chili vs. Brockport at 5:15 p.m. followed by Spencerport vs. Gates Chili at 7 p.m. On Tuesday, December 29 the consolation game is at 5:15 p.m. and the championship game is at 7 p.m.

The tournament is named for the very popular long-time Spencerport Girls Varsity Basketball coach, Don "Coach Chow" Wierzchowski who died in 2001 from pancreatic cancer. Proceeds of the tournament will be donated to the American Cancer Society in "Coach Chow's" name.
