VFW Auxiliary members visit veteran's hospital

The District 8 Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars welcomed New York State President Terry McGarr for an official visit at the recent meeting. McGarr presented District President Phyllis Walker an American flag to be given to a local fire department and a book entitled, "The Little Red Lighthouse and the Great Gray Bridge," to be given to an elementary school.

Auxiliary members donated socks, crafts, puzzle books and signed holiday greeting cards to d to be distributed to the veterans at the Canandaigua Veteran's Hospital. McGarr and other department, district and county auxiliary members visited the hospital on December 13. McGarr presented a check of $175 to the hospital along with phone cards for the veterans use. They also toured the facility and talked with some of the veterans. Following the tour, McGarr made her official visit to the Monroe County Council Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, where a luncheon was held in her honor.
