Spencerport hosts RPO 'Around the Town' concert

Spencerport High School will host the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra at its Performing Arts Center on Thursday, January 20, at 7:30 p.m. The free "Around the Town" concert series began in 1991 and is designed to take the orchestra out of the concert hall and into communities. Admission is free and open to the public.

Michael Butterman serves as the RPO's Principal Conductor for Education and Outreach. He is also the Associate Conductor of the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra and is the Music Director of Albuquerque's Opera Southwest. Butterman's engagements this season as guest conductor include the Symphony Orchestras of Detroit, Oregon, Quad Cities and San Antonio.

The program will include the music of Mozart, Schubert, Brahms and Strauss.
