GCC receives College of the Month recognition

Genesee Community College was named the College of the Month by the National Junior College Athletic Association, and was featured on the cover of the "JUCO Review," the organization's nationwide monthly magazine. Star athletes from each of 10 different intercollegiate Genesee Community College teams were pictured in their team attire on the front cover of the October edition.

Student athletes who were pictured from this area were: Jay Thomas from Brockport, Jennifer Ritter from Pembroke and Dale Pearce from Albion. The magazine cover can be found at http://marketing.genesee.edu/images/JUCOcover.jpg.

A two-page center spread of "JUCO Review" magazine was also dedicated to Genesee Community College. The story discussed the "Tradition of Academic and Athletic Excellence" with the Cougar Athletic team's participation philosophy, a review of fast facts and points of interest about the college.

For three decades, GCC has competed in regional, district and national tournaments and has earned many honors, "We are delighted to have the opportunity to showcase our program to a national audience," Len Nardone, director of Genesee's Athletic Department said.
