Hamlin resident featured in Preferred Care calendar
Shirley Alexander of Hamlin is among the Preferred Care Gold and GoldValue "stars" featured in the health maintenance organization's fourth annual calendar for its Medicare Advantage health plan members. Alexander is featured on the month of January 2005 in a full color photo that accompanies her response to the question, "What does it mean to live well?" The calendar's question theme plays off of Preferred Care's health-focused tag line, "It's time to live well." Each member featured responds to the question in a unique way. For Alexander, the answer is simple: "Be a role model for children and grandchildren. Show them a successful woman, a strong person who went to work and school, raised a family, worked through challenges, and stays independent. Be involved in family, church and volunteering ... and take the dog for walks!" The calendar is mailed to 51,000 Preferred Care Gold and GoldValue members as a thank-you for choosing Preferred Care, and is designed to be Medicare beneficiary user friendly.
