Work progresses at Hilton Village Park
Mild temperatures have permitted rapid progress in finishing the exterior of a new pavilion in Hilton's Village Park. The exterior work being done by Bennett Construction, Dansville, NY, should be finished by the middle of the month. Located on land partially paid for by a contribution from the Hilton Rotary, the enclosed shelter has many desirable features, including water, electricity, restrooms, a fireplace and a gas furnace. According to Tom Tilebein, superintendent of the Hilton DPW, "There's room for sixty people, including tables, in the structure; in addition, there will be two restrooms accessible from the outside for when the building is closed." The interior work will be done by the DPW, according to Tilebein.
Hilton DPW workers Tom Wright and Doug Jock work on installing a water line to the new pavilion being built in the Village Park. Many improvements are being added to the park, aided by a grant of $166,500 from the NYS Office of Parks and Historical Preservation.
