Holley wins first of season

Steve Wright, Mike Penna and Joel Grimm combined for all but 21 of Holley's points and the Hawks dominated the boards to defeat Northstar Christian Academy 63-51 for their first basketball victory of the season.

The Haws started slowly and trailed by four points at the end of the first quarter before the offense came alive. They outscored Northstar 18-8 in the second quarter to take a 27-21 lead in the locker room.

Holley extended their lead to as many as 14 points in the third quarter with Wright scoring eight of his game high 19 points. The fourth quarter was Penna's with six points as the closest Northstar was able to get was seven points after scoring the first two baskets of the final stanza.

For the Hawks, Penna finished with 18 points and 15 rebounds, Grimm had 15 points including three three-pointers and Wright scored all but three of this 19 points in the second half.
