Residents urged to adopt a fire hydrant

The Orleans County Sheriff's Office, in cooperation with all county fire departments, encourages all residents in all areas of the county to adopt a fire hydrant. Each time snow is removed from a driveway and/or sidewalk, a few moments can also be spent to clear the snow away from the nearest fire hydrant. Doing so may save emergency crews valuable minutes in fighting a fire.
