Residents urged to return
Hamlin Community Center survey

The Hamlin Community Center Exploratory Committee has distributed a survey to all Hamlin residents via direct mail. The goal of the survey is to determine the level of interest among Hamlin residents to develop a Community Center in the area as well as to determine the type of facility required. The survey is designed to measure several factors such as: overall level of satisfaction with the town, need for a community center, specific facilities needed in such a center, program usage, and basic demographic information.

The purpose of the committee is to gauge the level of interest town residents have for a community center. Several sub committees have been hard at work for the past year to determine potential locations, available funding, building design, and cost analysis. The committee now needs to use the comprehensive survey to gain feedback from residents. A brief questionnaire was used by the committee at the Wheel Fest to open dialogue with town residents as well as to fine tune the final comprehensive survey instrument. If enough interest suggests a genuine desire for a town community center, the survey will also help the group further study aspects such as size, design, location, and the search for funding can proceed.

All surveys must be turned in by Wednesday, January 25 and must be mailed in the postage paid envelope provided or it may be turned in to the town clerk's office. The research findings will be compiled by the committee and then presented to the town board and released to residents.
