Ogden Lunch Club 60 receives county funding
Funding for Ogden Lunch Club 60 was unanimously approved by Monroe County Legislature. The legislation authorizes $36,314 to be funded for senior nutrition programs and a variety of activities and services at the Ogden Lunch Club 60.
"Ogden Lunch Club 60 is a way for senior citizens to get a good meal in a social atmosphere," said Legislator Robert Colby, who sponsored the legislation. "This funding will continue the programs and activities that help seniors maintain their independence in our community."
Located at 200 South Union Street in Spencerport, the Ogden Lunch Club 60 Program, which is one of thirty around Monroe County, is a congregate meal program for persons 60 and over and their spouse of any age and offers a variety of programs.
The Monroe County Office for the Aging enters into approximately 54 contracts each year in amounts over $5,000, with matching funds provided by the county, through United Way, contractors and participant contributors. Contracted services directly correspond to the assessed needs and service objectives of the Office of the Aging's Annual Implementation Plan as required by the New York State Office for the Aging.
