Hilton swimmers go 'gold'

Four members of the Hilton Area Swim Team qualified for and participated in the Niagara District 14 & under gold Junior Olympics, held at the Webster Aquatic Center January 6-9.

Leading the way for HAST was Morgan Burns who took first place in the girls 10 & under 50 yd. breaststroke with a time of 39.67 seconds. Morgan also finished fourth in the 100 yd. Individual Medley and 20th in the 200 yd. freestyle.

Christie Engle swam in the girls 10 & under 50 yd. butterfly (14th) and the 100 yd. Individual Medley (29th).

Swimming in the 12 & under division were Gabrielle Price and Mary Juergens. Gabrielle swam the 50 yd. breaststroke (14th), 100 yd. breaststroke (15th) and the 200 yd. breaststroke (29th). Mary swam in the 50 yd. freestyle (37th), 100 yd. freestyle (36th), 50 yd. butterfly (26th) and the 50 yd. backstroke (38th).
