“Coach” Jack Hogan

Brockport basketball season dedicated to former coach

The Brockport Basketball Boosters Club dedicated a season’s competition to “Coach” Jack Hogan, a physical education teacher who retired in 2002.

Longtime basketball booster Tony Liccione said Coach was chosen because of his involvement in the sports program. “We salute Jack Hogan for his qualities of being a fine, unselfish and giving person who touched the lives of hundreds of players who passed through the Brockport basketball program. Coach Hogan had the players’ welfare in mind all the time. They went to him with everything from the very small to the very big. He was always there with his advice and guidance whenever they needed him. He’s a role model and his work ethic and jovial attitude earned him the respect and admiration of the players. His outstanding service and commitment brought great success to the boys and girls basketball programs. Guys like Coach Jack Hogan are one in a million!” Jack Hogan served as the girls basketball head coach from 1991 to 1996 and guided the 1995-96 team to league championships. He earned honors as Monroe County Coach of the Year in 1996. He later served as the assistant coach for the boys basketball team from 1997 to 2004.

Jack Hogan and his wife of 34 years, Mary, live in Brockport. They have four daughters, Amy, Betsy, Sarah and Catherine.
