Rangers take down Brockport
Spencerport won all but two weight classes including a pin by Nick Terenzi at 103 lb. in a 37-6 triumph over rival Brockport in high school wrestling.
Dan Tomasso won a 4-3 decision over Justin James at 140 lb. when he scored a reverse with just six seconds remaining in the match after James had taken a 3-2 lead with a takedown with less than thirty seconds left. Justin Linville went into overtime with Brockport's Vitaly Basisty at 171 lb. before picking up a takedown in the extra session. Linville forced the overtime with a reverse with just one minute left in the third period to tie.
Earlier, Eric Piedmonte scored a 6-2 decision at 112 lb., Anthony Borzillizi had two takedowns and a reverse in a 6-0 victory at 119 lb., Mike Hicks escaped in the third period to eke out a 3-2 win at 130 lb. and Chris Vigliotti picked up a 10-0 major decision at 135 lb.
Brockport's Mark Collichio picked up one of two Blue Devils victories at 125 lb. with a takedown just seconds into the overtime period to win 5-3. That was necessary when Spencerport's Chris Collura scored on an escape with 22 seconds left in regulation to tie the match. At 215 lb., Alex Nwaehujor won the other bout for the home team.
The Rangers Bryan Bourne won a 2-1 decision at 145 lb. with a second period escape, Adam Snook had little trouble in a 7-1 decision at 152 lb. and Mike Collura's second period takedown help up in a 2-1 victory at 160 lb.
Jared Plucknette won his 189 lb. match and Nick Terenzi finished the match with a pin in 3:46 at 103 lb.
