Boley's 25 leads Blue Devils
Senior Gabrielle Boley closed out her regular season high school basketball career with a 25 point - 20 rebound effort to lead Brockport to a 53-42 victory over Hilton.
The two teams traded baskets through the first quarter before the Blue Devils pulled away with a 14 point second quarter. Boley scored 15 of her 25 and all but nine of the Blue Devils points in the first half. The Cadets were down by as many as ten points in the second quarter before Casey Reinhardt hit from the field and Aubre Fox knocked down a free throw to close the half.
The Cadets closed to within four points on several occasions in the third quarter, but that would be as close as they would get as Boley scored consecutive baskets in the final minute. The Blue Devils outscored Hilton 15-10 in the final stanza to improve their record to 8-10 and gain either an eighth or ninth seed for the upcoming Section V Tournament.
Boley finished with four steals and tied her career best with the 20 rebounds. VanDenburg scored 15 points with six assists and freshman Lindsay Hage had 10 points with six assists and four steals for Brockport.
Hilton senior Emilie Welch scored all ten of her points from the line while fellow senior Heather Haight led the Cadets with 12 points.
Welch, Haight and Fox played in their final regular season game for Hilton. Seniors Boley, Alex Liccione, Cate LaFrance and Caitlin Myers were recognized before the game for the Blue Devils for their final regular season home game.
