Orleans County 4-H hosts public presentations day
Orleans County 4-H Public Presentations Day was held Saturday, February 12 at sites in Knowlesville, Albion and Lyndonville. Sixty-five 4-H members, ranging in age from eight to 17, presented on topics ranging from hermit crabs to knitting to karate.
Margo Bowerman, 4-H team coordinator for Orleans County, said the 4-H Public Presentations Program is one of 4-H's most beneficial and rewarding experiences and is often credited by 4-H alumni as having given them an edge above peers in both college and professional careers. The day provides an opportunity to develop a positive self-concept and poise, gain self-confidence before a group, learn to express ideas clearly, respond simultaneously to questions and gain subject matter knowledge.
The Public Presentations Program also occurs on regional and statewide levels.
