Spencerport district and teachers reach agreement
The new four-year contract approved by the Spencerport School District and Spencerport Teachers Association which will replace the contract expiring June 30, features wording to reflect both the district's and the teachers' commitment to the district's Strategic Plan and mission.
The agreement calls for an average 3.9 percent salary increase over the four years and a starting salary of $36,500 for a new teacher with a bachelor's degree. Changes were made to the health insurance plan that will provide the community with both short- and long term savings without compromising quality benefits for staff, said Assistant Superintendent Michael Crumb. The district, as well as other districts, will participate in a special plan put together by Excellus.
