Knitters create warmth for veterans

What started out as a lesson in knitting ended with this happy group visiting the Batavia Veteran's Hospital. Joanne Lotzow, Julie Maples, Andrea Maples and Billy Maples, all of Hamlin, knit 18 brightly colored lap robes. They donated them, on behalf of Mary Jane Holmes Chapter #440 Order of the Eastern Star of Brockport, to the Veteran's Hospital in Batavia. Andrea and Bill made sun catchers to go with each robe and wrote a note thanking the veterans for helping to make them safe. They then, along with their mom and grandmother, delivered them to some very grateful veterans on February 22.
