Spencerport Board of Ed seeking candidates
Spencerport School District residents are invited to run for a three-year term on the Spencerport Board of Education, which votes on school district policies and budgets. To become a board candidate, an interested person must be a U.S. citizen age 18 and over and a district resident. Candidates also must have petitions signed by 49 eligible voters in the district. Petitions are available at the Administration Building, 71 Lyell Avenue, from the District Clerk of the Board. Candidates must return their petitions and the application to the District Clerk by 4 p.m. Friday, April 15.
This year, three seats are available on the seven-member board. The seats are currently held by Board President Laura McFarlane, Vice President David Dorofy and Christine Geen. Board members will be elected on May 17, when district residents will vote on the proposed school budget.
