Buckman's Penny Power Campaign benefits Lakeside Child Care

Representatives from Buckman's Car Wash presented a check in the amount of $2,068.24 to Lakeside Child Care from proceeds raised through their "Penny Power" project. This amount was collected during 2004. Jeff Gold, the owner and president, Paul Grugnale, general manager and Christine Kretchmer, marketing manager, visited Lakeside Child Care to present the gift to Nicole Struble, director of Lakeside Child Care and Michael Perry, senior vice president of Long Term Care Services.

Customers at Buckman's Car Wash are asked to donate any change they receive from their car wash, or more, to the "Penny Power" project.

Customer contributions are supplemented with corporate sponsorship from HSBC Bank and Buckman's Car Wash. The funds are then donated to non-profit agencies that provide educational and support services to children, youth and families in the Western New York area. "Our customers are fantastic, and many of them donate more than just their change. When everybody gives a little bit, it amounts to a lot," stated Grugnale. Buckman's has been supporting Lakeside Child Care since May 1999, donating $12,240.81 to benefit the care center. Since its inception, the Penny Power Project has donated over $64,000 to benefit children.
