Dr. Seuss's birthday celebrated at Fairbanks Road School

Fairbanks Road School students in Churchville honored Dr. Seuss's birthday with a day full of reading fun organized by three Nazareth College student teachers, Heather Branca, Dena Olson and Kevin Saeva, along with several staff members. Each child fashioned a "Cat in the Hat" hat to wear. Local celebrities David Aldrich, meteorologist from Channel 13 News, Dale Buss from the Churchville Volunteer Fire Department, Viki Demkos, a student at Churchville-Chili Senior High School, Sergeant Sal Gerbino of the Gates Police Department, Rob Hasweld, meteorologist from Channel 8 News, Kathy Kris from Channel 13 News, Dr. Rick Parsons, a Churchville veterinarian and Andy Vargo from the Churchville Volunteer Fire Department were on hand to read their favorite stories. The children were given bookmarks and certificates and the day ended with cupcakes for everyone.
