Hilton Middle School focusing on respect

Hilton's Merton Williams Middle School will hold a week-long celebration of "respect, tolerance and kindness" from March 28 to April 1.

"We are promoting the importance of respecting and tolerating others," Principal Carol Stehm said, "and to support our school's campaign to prevent bullying in schools."

Among the activities throughout the school will be a poster contest sponsored through the health classes; a presentation to students on Bullying: Putting a Stop to Cruelty with guest speaker Elizabeth Meeker; the school's teams will be participating in activities including kindness cards which recognize students for their positive actions towards others and a presentation of monetary donations to four charities on April 1.
