Brockport Service Clubs celebrate Salvation Army results
Rotary president Gary Zimmer (left), Kiwanis Representative and Brockport Area Salvation Army Coordinator Dan Perry and Lions representative Greg Lund (right) were among the group of service club members gathered to celebrate the $10,000 plus raised through the volunteer efforts of the various club members during December 2004. This includes about $2,000 garnered by Spencerport volunteers. The Brockport total alone is twice the amount raised in 2003. Coordinator Dan Perry is able to use 90 percent of the funds locally to support persons in need of food, clothing, prescriptions and gasoline. The clubs' annual competition based on the one best day of soliciting was won by Kiwanis. The three clubs thank generous community members for their support. Appreciation is also due the many non-club volunteers who worked many hours during December. Volunteers for the December 2005 campaign are also welcome as 90 percent of the money stays in the locality.
