Annual benefit concert and silent auction announced

The Amadeus Chorale will hold their annual benefit concert, entitled Broadway Bound, on Friday, April 28 at 7 p.m. at Spencerport High School. This year, a silent auction will also take place before and during the concert. In the past, The Amadeus Chorale has raised money for Lakeside Hospital Pediatric Unit, Ronald McDonald House, Rochester School for the Deaf, Monroe Community Hospital and others. The proceeds of this year's concert and silent auction will benefit Operation Warm, a project founded in the 1990s to provide brand-new, warm winter coats to needy children.

This year's concert will feature all five Amadeus Chorale choirs presenting many familiar pieces. Concluding the program will be a medley of 28 themes from well-known Broadway shows - everything from "Evita" to "Oklahoma!" The silent auction will start at 6 p.m. Winners will be announced at the end of the concert. Cash or checks will be accepted. Concert tickets will be $10 each and are available at the door or in advance from any Amadeus singer.

The Amadeus Chorale consists of several auditioned choirs for talented singers in grades three to 12. Each spring and summer, auditions are held. The singing season runs from September through May each year.
