Three Board of Education seats open in Churchville-Chili

The terms of board members Ramon Ferris, Thomas Smithgall and Kevin Naughton will expire on June 30. Candidates wishing to run for the Churchville-Chili Central School Board of Education must submit petitions to the district clerk on or before Monday, April 18 by 5 p.m.

Petitions must contain the signatures of at least 27 qualified voters in the school district. A qualified voter is defined as any person who is a citizen of the United States, is at least 18 years old and will have been a resident of the school district for at least 30 days prior to the date of the election. Petition forms may be obtained in the district clerk's office at 139 Fairbanks Road during regular business hours.

A drawing for ballot position will be held at 5 p.m. on Monday, April 18, in the administration office. Candidates are invited to participate in the drawing or the district clerk will draw on their behalf.

The budget hearing and information meeting will be held on May 10 at 7 p.m. in the board room at the administration office. The first portion of the evening's agenda will be a discussion open to the community on the proposed 2005-2006 school budget. After that, district residents will have the opportunity to meet candidates running for the three Board of Education vacancies.
