Hilton expected to choose superintendent by mid-April
The Hilton Board of Education has entered the final stage of its search for a new superintendent of schools with the announcement of three finalists. The first round of interviews narrowed the candidate field to these finalists: David Dimbleby, principal of Hilton High School; Pamela W. Kissel, Ed.D, assistant superintendent of instructional support at Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES; and John B. Plume, superintendent of schools in the Auburn City School District. Hilton Schools' superintendent search began last fall and attracted 38 candidates. The Board of Education is expected to announce their selection at their regular meeting April 12, 2005.
"The pool of candidates is one of the strongest I've had in a long time," said Search Consultant Tod Eagle, who is currently serving as Hilton's interim superintendent.
Dimbleby has been Hilton High School Principal since 1999, and has been a special education teacher or administrator in the Hilton School District since 1985. Prior to that he taught in both the Albion and Williamson Central School Districts and also served as assistant principal in the Churchville-Chili Central School District in 1994. He is a resident of Brockport.
Kissel has been Assistant Superintendent of Instructional Support for Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES since 2001. Prior to that she was principal of Penfield High School, principal of Cato-Meridian Middle School and English teacher at Fayetteville-Manlius High School, Homer High School, Dansville High School and Wayland Central Schools. She is a resident of Rochester.
Plume has been Superintendent of Schools in the Auburn City School District since 2001. Formerly he was a principal in the Union Springs Central School District; superintendent in the South Seneca Central School District in Interlaken; principal in the Weedsport Junior-Senior High School; and assistant principal in the West Genesee Senior High School in Camillus. He was also an English teacher. He is a resident of Auburn.
