Student detectives
rock their brains

Brockport Hill Elementary School students turned detectives as part of a weeklong Project ADEPT (a diversified enrichment program for the talented) residency on Paleontology. Guest instructor Ron Walker, trained in biology, earth science and math at SUNY Brockport, Cornell University and Syracuse University, taught students how fossils can tell a story and how life formed across the area and has changed over time. At the end of the week, the entire school was invited to "Journey Through Earth's Time" as students interpreted various paleontology artifacts. Above, Hill Elementary student Douglas Liebe and Guest Instructor Ron Walker analyze a replica of a dinosaur tooth during the Paleontology residency.
