Brockport CEO 'red tags' house
At the request of the homeowner, Brockport Code Enforcement Officer Scott Zarnstorff "red tagged" a property at 104 Monroe Avenue in the village. The property, owned by Nat O. Lester III, Town of Sweden's supervisor, sustained extensive damage to one of the apartments and led to its being deemed uninhabitable, Zarnstorff said. "There was significant damage and the home was missing safety devices and smoke detectors and had a lot of broken light fixtures," he said.
The residents, students at SUNY Brockport, were vacated from the premises and have found other housing while the landlord addresses the violations.
Lester sent a letter to village board officials commending Zarnstorff on his quick response to the situation.
