Hilton Schools' Aquatic Center opens

Hilton School District's new $4.5 million Aquatic Center opened in late March to rave reviews. Located at the Merton Williams Middle School, 200 School Lane, the glistening, new facility will be a centerpiece of swimming for the district and the community. The facility includes an eight-lane competitive pool, diving well with two diving boards, electronic timing board, classroom, seating for 240 spectators, a storage room, and lifeguard and instructor station. The Boys and Girls Swim Teams 'christened' the pool on March 7 by pouring a bottle of water from the old pool into the new one. Physical Education classes at Merton Willams have begun to use the pool as well as Hilton Continuing Education classes - Aquafit, SCUBA and Kayaking, HAST (Hilton Area Swim Team) and Hilton-Parma Recreation.
