Bright Raven gymnasts qualify for regionals

Bright Raven gymnasts, Christine Manthei of Chili and Julie Mingoea of Spencerport, both qualified to advance in USA Gymnastics competition by being among the top all around scoring gymnasts at the Level 8 State Championship. Sixteen-year-old Manthei earned second place in floor exercise competition scoring a 9.475, fifth place on the uneven parallel bars and finished fourth all around with a total of 35.95. Mingoea, age 15, earned third place on vault with a score of 9.35. Her all around total of 35.80 was good for sixth place.

They will represent New York state at the USAG Level 8 Regional Championships April 30 to May 1 in Westborough, Massachusetts. At Regionals, they will compete against all of the New England State teams in addition to New York.
