Spencerport Rangers shut out Churchville-Chili
Seniors Jennifer Alessi and Dana Chubb combined for nine goals as Spencerport shutout Churchville-Chili 19-0 in girl's lacrosse.
Spencerport scored 12 goals in the first half and added seven in the second while holding the Saints, in their first year as a varsity program, to just one shot on goal in the game.
Alessi finished with five goals and added three assists while Chubb had one assist to go with her four goals. Katharine Kalamaroff also had a five-point game with a pair of goals and Stephanie Snyder scored twice with one assist. Heather Dorofy registered the shutout in goal for the Rangers.
Spencerport, who finished their second varsity campaign last season with a 3-14 record, has apparently turned the corner and has started this season with a 4-1 record under the direction of head coach Amy Nesbitt. The team features nine seniors and 10 juniors.
