BOCES 2 teacher, students earn awards

BOCES 2 Career and Technical Education teacher Chef Kevin Bedard is a recipient of the 2005 ProStart® Teacher Training and Development Award by the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (NRAEF). Bedard, a BOCES 2 culinary arts teacher for six years, is one of 12 national winners.

Students in the BOCES 2 Culinary Arts team placed first in the Monroe Community College high school culinary competition. Heather Dalton, Hilton; Peter Schulmerich, team captain, Churchville Chili; Stephanie Szostak, Greece; and Cory Valerio, Greece placed first in the competition.

A second BOCES Culinary Arts team took fourth place in the competition. They are Jarred Foster, Greece; Jason Knight and Nicholas Mosher, team captain, both of Spencerport; and Joel Goodman, Gates Chili.
