Parma/Ogden/Sweden Republicans
choose Yolevich to run for legislature seat
Ogden, Parma and Sweden Republican committee members elected Dick Yolevich as their candidate to run for the open County Legislature seat in the 1st District of the Monroe County Legislature. Yolevich was selected at the town Republican committees' mini-convention held on Wednesday, April 20. The 1st Legislative District consists of a majority of the Town of Parma and small portions of Ogden and Sweden. Yolevich will seek election to the seat held by Pete McCann who can't seek re-election due to term limits. McCann has served eight years.
Currently, Yolevich is a six-year veteran of the Parma Town Board. Prior to his tenure on the town board, Yolevich served on the Parma Zoning Board of Appeals for six years. He is retired from owning and operating Village Donuts, a well known retail and wholesale operation which was located in the 1st Legislative District for 27 years.
"I truly understand what it is like to have the responsibility to own and operate a business with a mandated budget. That is why, as a County Legislator, I will always make sure I look out for the residents and ensure fiscal responsibility from our Monroe County Legislative body," said Yolevich.
"I am honored to have been selected by my peers to run for County Legislator," said Yolevich. "My wife and I truly believe that the towns of Parma, Ogden and Sweden are wonderful places to live and I look forward to getting out into the community to discuss the issues that concern our district's residents the most."
Yolevich is a 36 year resident of Parma and a life-long resident of Monroe County. He and his wife, Susan, have two grown children, Tracy and Vicki.
