Ty Zinkiewich has been named principal at Spencerport High School. Currently principal at Kendall Junior-Senior High School, he is a former assistant principal and teacher in the Greece Central School District. At Greece, Zinkiewich taught science and social studies at several district schools and was an assistant principal at the Greece Odyssey Middle/High School for four years. Two years ago, he joined the Kendall district as high school principal. He and his wife, Katie, a teacher at Brockport High School, live in Brockport with their two daughters. Gerald Bucklin, the current Spencerport principal, has been named the district's director of secondary education. In this position, he will coordinate curriculum and other academic programs between the high school and Cosgrove Middle School. Zinkiewich said he was impressed by Spencerport's Strategic Plan, the district's attention to developing a rigorous framework for teaching and learning. "Spencerport has a great reputation not only in Monroe County but in New York State," he said. "My ultimate goal has been to be a principal at a comprehensive high school like Spencerport." |
