Parma Archers place in state competition
At the New York State Field Archers and Indoor Bowhunters Championship held at Seneca Falls, two men from the Parma Senior Archery Club placed first and second.
Shooters of all ages from across New York state used re-curve bows, and the Champion was John Barclay of Hilton. He scored first overall, and fellow Parma archer George Blickwede scored a second place finish.
Target archery promotes skill, coordination, camaraderie, and exercise in a friendly environment. For those interested in target archery, Hilton-Parma Recreation is offering a spring course for all ages on Saturday mornings beginning May 21. The cost for this 6-week course is $25 per person and bows and arrows are provided. Call 392-9030 for details.
