BOCES 2 students
enjoy their prom
Nearly 60 students from several BOCES 2 special education classes danced the night away Friday, May 6 at the Airport Marriott. The students participated in their prom, the annual Spring Dinner Dance.
In its eighth year, the dance provides students the opportunity to experience an event that they probably would not participate in within their own districts. Students enjoyed the evening with their friends, classmates and teachers.
Marcia Olson, teacher, said the students aren't the only ones who eagerly anticipate the dance. "We all look forward to this night; it's a high point of the year," Olson said. This year's event also included special recognition for a long-time BOCES 2 supervisor, Carolyn Salvatore. She has been instrumental in coordinating the dance since its inception, according to school representatives.
