Local singer to
perform at music festival
Kerri Lynn Slominski, the daughter of Wilma and Joseph Slominski of Spencerport, has been selected to perform a classical concert in Piccolo Spoleto Music Festival on May 28. The two week internationally known festival takes place in Charleston, South Carolina. Her vocal concert will be held at the Second Presbyterian Church on Meeting Street.
Slominski has sung in the chorus in the Spencerport Schools since the fourth grade and has performed in public with her mother since elementary school. In March, she helped organize a concert to benefit the victims of Tsunami. Teens for Tsunami Relief Concert was held at the Hochstein School of Music and Dance and featured teen musicians from both the Eastman Community Music School and Hochstein.
This year she has presented her own master class, A Lesson in Opera, for second through fifth grade classes and choruses in the Spencerport elementary schools.
On June 3, she will perform with her mother at the Westside Cancer Relay for Life from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Spencerport High School. Her final concert locally will be at the White Church in Spencerport on Sunday, June 12 at 3 p.m.
This fall, Slominski will attend the Peabody Conservatory of Music at John's Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland.
