Churchville celebrates 10th annual music festival
The 10th Annual Community Music Festival, sponsored by the Churchville-Chili Music Boosters, will be held in front of the Churchville-Chili Senior High School on Sunday, June 5.
The day-long event features performing groups from every school within the district. Performances begin at 1 p.m. with the newest ensemble, the Churchville-Chili Brass Band. The youngest students to perform will be the third grade choirs from Chestnut-Ridge School and Churchville Elementary. The faculty choir, led by second grade teacher Ron Herman, the 2004 Music Booster of the Year, will also perform.
Afternoon will feature performances by the six senior high ensembles. In recognition of the 10th anniversary of the event, the day is scheduled to conclude at 6:15 p.m. with a performance of "The Battle Hymn of the Republic."
The Churchville Lions will serve a chicken barbecue for $6. The chicken dinner will begin at 1 p.m.
In case of inclement weather, the festival will be moved to gym A of the senior high school and the barbecue to the junior high cafeteria. For information, contact Kevin Mead at 585-293-1800, ext. 3170.
