Spencerport teams qualify for scholar award
Seven of eight spring athletic teams at Spencerport Central Schools qualified for the NYSPHSAA Team Scholar Athlete Award. In order to qualify, a team must have a team grade point average of 90 percent or above.
The teams that qualified and their grade point average and coaches were: Girls Lacrosse - 95.264 - Amy Nesbitt, Boys Track and Field - 93.875 - Jamie Schneider, Boys Tennis - 93.619 - John Gentile, Girls Track and Field - 93.517 - Linda Pringle, Boys Lacrosse - 91.688 - Jerry Dawes, Baseball - 91.427 - Matthew Amoroso, Golf - 91.314 - Tom Etsler.
The student-athletes who qualified for:
Girls Lacrosse: Katharine Kalamaroff, Emily Knight, Jennifer Smith, Lauren French, Stephanie Snyder, Tricia Zambito, Kaitlin Skolny, Andrea Lippa, Katelin O'Connor, Christina Mangione, Lauren Parkhurst and Valerie Snider.
Boys Track and Field: Andrew Cholewa, Nathan VanGraafeiland, Jonathon Schreiner, Ryan Bloom, Joshua Chaddock, Christopher Somers, Joseph Curatolo, Andrew Decker, Graig Baxter, Christopher Dettman, Christopher Eppeira, Nicholas Lowe, Charles Smith and Michael SanFilipo.
Boys Tennis: Andrew Powers, Daniel Dixon, Scott Elliott, Joseph Persia, Christopher Wolfe, Dimitrois Kostarellis, Brian Morgan, Mark Blankfield and Gregory Markant.

For the 2004-05 school year Spencerport had 22 of its 26 varsity teams qualify for this award.
