Lakeside Health System hosted an event to celebrate the work and support of the LMH Twig Association throughout the year. The Twig Association donated $99,118 in medical equipment during 2004 in support of Lakeside's "Building for the Next Generation" Capital Campaign. The Twig Association purchased some of the equipment needed for the expansion project including eight oak bassinets, a fetal monitor and digital baby scale for the OB Department. In addition, equipment purchased for the OR and hospital floors included an arthroscopy cart, cast saw with vacuum, pulse oximetry module, non-invasive blood pressure module, PACU stretcher and 10 crash carts. Michael Perry, interim CEO, Kevin C. Nacy, interim president and Carolyn M. Vacanti, vice president clinical services and chief nursing officer, acknowledged the contributions of the Twig Association members. Perry presented a framed certificate to the president of the Twig Association members. As a special thank you, a drawing was held for several prizes. The winners were: Lou Miller, Ginkgo Twig; Mary Harrington, Butternut Twig; Anne Johantgen, Bittersweet Twig; and Joan Lester, Wisteria Twig. In addition to financial support, the Twig members also operate the Gift Shop; supply the art work throughout the campus, fund health career scholarships, maintain the courtyard, host the Twig Tree of Lights and Tour of Homes and many other fundraisers. |
