Ogden Republican Committee chooses slate for fall election
The Ogden Republican Committee has endorsed for re-election all the incumbent town officials whose terms of office expire this year.
Gay Lenhard will be running for her fifth two year term as supervisor. She holds degrees from both Rochester Institute of Technology and SUNY Brockport and has a vast knowledge of and much experience in budgeting and finance. While supervisor, she has been very successful in keeping the town taxes level through careful planning and budgeting, according to a committee press release. Due to a very good working relationship with Senator Maziarz, Assemblyman Reilich and Congressman Reynolds, she has been able to secure both state and federal grants that have helped finance town projects which would have otherwise had to be financed through taxes, the committee reports.
Dave Widger has been endorsed for re-election for Highway Superintendent. A lifelong resident of the town of Ogden, he is an expert in all aspects of highway construction and care, drainage and other areas. He became superintendent after many years of gaining knowledge and experience working for the highway department, according to the committee press release.
Tom Cole and Tom Uschold are running for re-election to the Ogden Town Board. Tom Cole, a retired engineer, has over 25 years experience in government in Ogden. Before being elected to the town board, he was on the planning board and served as chairman for 14 years. Tom Uschold will be running for his fourth term on the board. He holds an MBA in finance from Temple University.
Dave Murante has been endorsed for re-election as town judge. He is a practicing attorney in the city of Rochester. This will be his second term of office.
