Murray water district going to referendum

Water District 12 in the Town of Murray would be the town's most ambitious undertaking yet, Supervisor Henry Lehning said.

"The project would encompass 10 miles of water lines and would tie together a lot of loose ends," he said.

The proposal for the district will go before the residents at a June 21 public information meeting and will be set forth as a referendum on June 28.

'The district will be one of the most expensive ones we've done and some people are for it, some are against, that's why we're putting it up for a vote," Lehning explained.

The anticipated cost for the district, if approved, would be approximately $800 per household annually.
