Retired Spencerport music teacher Stanley Robards, with his wife, Joyce, holds a Memory Book given to him at the Spencerport Schools Band Reunion. The book contains dozens of letters written to him by former students, who recalled the impact he had on their lives.

Music teacher honored at Spencerport band reunion

Former students came from California, Texas, Ohio and Florida to pay tribute to Stan Robards of Spencerport, who taught at Spencerport from 1950 to 1980.

More than 80 alumni came to see one of their favorite teachers and reminisce about band trips, laugh over musical mishaps and look back at their encounters with a teacher who many said changed their lives.
