Carter, Chester W., June 13, 2005 at age 81. He is survived by his wife of 57 years Isabelle M. Carter; his sons Glenn, Brion (Lynnette) Carter; his grandchildren, Bethany, Charity, Meldoy, Tiffany, Jaron, Carson and Nolon; his great granddaughter, Annabelle; his sister Arlene (Gene) Rickner and his niece Linda Sarkis. Chester was a member of Unity Lodge #479 F.&A.M., Spencerport.
A Memorial Service was held June 17 at the First Bible Baptist Church, Rochester. Contributions can be made to the First Bible Baptist Church - Building Fund in his memory.
ALBION
Holmes, Charles, 69 formerly of Albion, died June 7, 2005 at his home in Frederick, Maryland. He was born December 14, 1935 in England, the son of the late Charles and Catherine (Rogers) Holmes. He was a 1st Engineer in the British Merchant Navy, a member of the United Auto Workers Association, and AA-Friends of Bill. He is predeceased by first wife Sylvia Holmes. He is survived by four children, Gary (Chris) Holmes of New York, Andrew (Dawn) of Maryland, Karen Holmes of New York, Philip Homes of New York; two stepchildren, Ron (Kelli) Ricker, Charlie (Sandy) Ricker, both of New York; former wife, Gail Holmes of Holley; grandchildren, Kansas Holmes, Amber Junod, Matthew Holmes, Justin McGowan, Lauren McGowan, Christopher Parabello, Heather Abrams, Alex Abrams, Anthony Fessetch, Jacob Ricker, Laiken Ricker, Patrick Ricker; one brother, Jack Holmes of England.
A Memorial Service was held June 13 at the Merrill-Grinnell Funeral Home, Holley. Interment, Hillside Cemetery. Donations can be made to a charity of one's choice in his memory.
BROCKPORT
Banker, Shawn, June 3, 2005 at age 28, of complications from Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. He is survived by his father, James (Prudence) Banker; mother, Rose Stamper; aunt, Bonnie Baker; uncle, Kerry (Jada) Loughlin; sisters, Vanora (Roger) Cote, Shannon Bretschneider; brother, David Banker; cousins, Nicholas and John and niece, Lila. Our hearts and thanks go out to Mario, Susan and family, Amber, Sheila, Renee, Gwynne, staff and residents at the Clarkson IRA group home, Wayne and Marilyn, Terry, Dave, and Mozella. A special thanks to all the bikers who overlooked the wheelchair and treated him like one of themselves. He was a graduate of Brockport High School and a talented songwriter and singer, recording with local bands "The Niche" and "Ghost."
A Celebration of his Life was held June 18. Donations can be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Lifetime Assistance Inc., Sunshine Rotary Camp or a charity of one's choice in his memory.
Bryant, Herbert F., June 11, 2005 at the age of 90. Predeceased by his wife, Dolores. He is survived by his children, Karen (Pete) Nier, Robert DDS (Lorie) Bryant of Brockport; grandchildren, Jennifer (Mike) Mann, Sarah Weidman, David (Katie) Bryant, Steven Weidman, Michael Bryant, Katie "Bugs" Bryant, Bobby Bryant; five great-grandchildren. Herbert was a supervisor at Eastman Kodak for 43 years. He was an avid golfer and a member at BrookLea County Club.
A Funeral Mass was said June 18 at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Webster. Interment, Mt. Hope Cemetery. Donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 435 East Henreitta Road, Rochester 14620 in his memory.
CHURCHVILLE
Rapp, Frederick A., June 7, 2005. Predeceased by his sons, Frederick A. and Michael H.; parents Idabelle B. Rapp (Wainwright) and Lewis G. Rapp Jr. Survived by his wife Linda; loving daughters Abigail M. Bristol (David) and Diane M. Rapp; sister Penny Sexton (James); niece Pamela Kosmowski (Christopher); nephew Timothy J. Sexton; several aunts, uncles, cousins and many good friends. Fred was a veteran of both the Navy and The National Guard, also a 32 year employee of the Monroe County Water Authority. Interment, St. Pius Cemetery.

Garvey, Marilyn (Catlin) (Gardner), June 4, 2005, age 75, widow of Robert Garvey. She is survived by her children, Laurie (Rick) Harris and Jeffrey (Linda) Gardner; her brother, Raymond Catlin; three sisters, Shirley Keech, Patricia Kelly and Linda Little; two granddaughters, Melanie and Jennifer; two step-grandsons, Shawn and Tim; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Service was held June 18 at Lakeside Cemetery, Brockport. Those wishing can make contributions to North Greece or Hilton Fire Department in her memory.
Greenwell, Olla A. (Bush), June 12, 2005, age 86. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Thomas A. Greenwell; her sister, Rosemary Clark; many nieces and nephews.
A Private Graveside Service was held at Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery.
Kovacs, Margaret J., June 14, 2005, age 66. Survived by her husband, Stephen; children, Matthew Seils, Michael Kovacs; grandchildren, Matthew David Seils, Sarah Seils.
Funeral Services were held June 17 at the Thomas E. Burger Funeral Home, Inc., Hilton. Private interment, Parma Union Cemetery. Contributions can be made to the Epilepsy Foundation in her memory.
McMann, Alvin C., June 6, 2005, age 89 in Dayton, Ohio, formerly of Hilton. He was predeceased by his wife, Bernice, 1994. He is survived by his son, Fred (Kathy) McMann of Houston, Texas; his daughter, Donna (John) Speers of Dayton; devoted companion, Ruth Gillette; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Gordon McMann of Florida; brother-in-law, Clarence ("Sid") Lankton of Kentucky. Al was a longtime barber in Hilton.

KENDALL
Petote, Joseph M., age 77, died April 22, 2005 in Winter Haven, Florida following a long illness. Predeceased by a sister, Carmel Rietman, and grandson, Robert T. Gare. Survived by devoted wife of 43 years, Jean; children Mike (Liz) Petote, Reneé (Pat) Bertoni, Chrystal Ford (Wayne Wyand), Dan (Sherry) Petote, Lt. Phil (Stephanie) Petote, Georgiana (Wayne) Fauci, and Berle Dale; 11 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a niece and nephew.
A Memorial Service will be held 1 p.m. on June 25 at the Concordia Lutheran Church, 1769 Kendall Road, Kendall. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association or the National Kidney Foundation in his memory.

Moore, Dana C. "Charlie," 54, U.S. Navy veteran and NYS Real Property Evaluator. Survived by wife, Heather Boyd; two stepdaughters, Adrienne Lattin of Albion, Allison Lattin of Albany; one grandchild, Freeman Lattin; two brothers, David W. Moore of Medina, Kevin (Frances) Moore of Kent; one niece, Muldair Moore of Kent; father-in-law, Frank Boyd of Owego; sister-in-law, Patricia McVay of Ohio.

Alexander, Marian E. (Groat), June 8, 2005. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, George I. Alexander; her daughters, Karen Alexander, Ann (Bill) Hill and Barbara (Richard) Puffer; her granddaughters, Michelle (Geoff) Klahn and Christine Hill; her great granddaughter Breanna Klahn; her aunt Anna (Fred) Burley; many nieces, nephews and loving friends.
Funeral Services were held June 13 in the All Seasons Chapel at White Haven Memorial Park, Pittsford. Contributions can be made to Lifetime Care/Hospice Inpatient Unit, 89 Genesee Street, Rochester, NY 14611 in her memory.
DiLauro, Martin N., Age 57, of Painted Post, NY died unexpectedly on June 7, 2005 at Corning Hospital. Martin was born in Spencerport on March 31, 1948, the son of Amerigo and Ramona Frances (Huck) DiLauro. He received his doctorate from Auburn University and was employed by the U.S. Geological Survey in Wellsboro, Pennsylvania where he was a Fishery Research Biologist. He married M. Diane Panfil Wallace on June 29, 2003 in Painted Post. He loved the outdoors and fishing, and enjoyed hockey and jazz. His survivors include his loving wife Diane; father, Amerigo DiLauro of Brockport; one son, Marcus DiLauro of San Francisco, California; three sisters, Ginny Gebhard of Rochester, Lola DiLauro of Rochester, and Lorraine Clark of Marietta, Georgia; a step son, Daniel Wallace of Burlington, Vermont; two step daughters, Jill Wallace of Burlington, Vermont, and Michelle Wallace of Raleigh, North Carolina; two nieces; one nephew; his mother-in-law, Alice Panfil of Springville; several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. Martin was predeceased by his mother, Ramona.
Funeral Services were held June 11 in Corning.
Hefner, James D., June 14, 2005 at age 54. He is survived by his wife Dolores M. Hefner; his mother Dorthy Hefner-Sprague; his sons, Jeffrey (Julie) and David (Marjie) Hefner; his grandchildren Zachary and Amanda; his sister Barbara (Paul) Gropp; brother, Robert Hafner; brothers, Stan, Brian, Steve and Ronald Dobra; sisters Dorthy Dobra, Rosanna Conrad, Linda Crawford, Kathy Eckerson; brother-in-law Tom DeYager; sisters-in-law Robin (Bill Fisher) Coleman and Donna Bauman; many nieces, nephews, aunts, un-cles and cousins.
