Three Holley students travel Europe
Three students from Holley got the chance to represent the United States in Europe as members of the 2005 Section V-Eurosports Network Select Soccer Tour.
On April 16, Mike Penna, Dominique Rupert and Yuri Sushchik joined 31 other Section V select players for a week-long trip to Holland, Belgium and France. They toured the canals of Amsterdam, the Cathedral of Our Lady in Antwerp, the Common Market in Brussels, France's most magnificent chateau in Versailles, the Eiffel Tower, The Louvre and a boat tour on the river Seine through Paris.
Evenings consisted of soccer matches against athletes in Belgium and France. Their introduction to European soccer gave them an inside view of how the game is played, a better understanding of other customs and habits and the spirit of international sportsmanship.
