Young citizens of the year announced
County Executive Maggie Brooks and Monroe County Legislature President Wayne Zyra honored the recipients of the 2005 Young Citizen of the Year and Willie Lightfoot Youth Advocate of the Year Awards. For the past 12 years, the Legislature has worked in partnership with the Rochester-Monroe County Youth Bureau to identify and honor exceptional youth and youth advocates for their contributions to the community. The recipients of this year's awards from this area are:
Age 12 and Under: Emily Egan, a student at Churchville-Chili Intermediate School; Jonah Martin, a student at Churchville-Chili Intermediate School; Cassandra Metzinger, a student at Churchville-Chili Intermediate School.
Age 16-21: Kellen MacBeth, a student at Spencerport High School; and Dennis Smalley, a student at Brockport High School.
