Miss Monroe County Fair pageant seeks contestants

The 2nd Annual Miss Monroe County Fair Pageant, slated for Saturday, July 16 is seeking contestants. This year the pageant will have four categories: Tiny Miss, Little Miss, Junior Miss and Miss Monroe County Fair. The Tiny Miss category is open to ages 4 to 6; the Little Miss category is open to ages 7 to 9; the Junior Miss category to ages 10 to 13; and the Miss Monroe County Fair category to ages 14 to 17.

Younger participants should wear their best "Sunday dress," while older participants are encouraged to wear a formal gown such as a prom dress. Contestants will participate in onstage question-and-answer sessions.

The winner in each of the four age categories will receive a crown, sash, flowers and a $200 savings bond as well as other donated prizes. In addition, they will also participate in the Monroe County Fair Parade that evening at 5 p.m.

The pageant will take place at the Dome Stage during the Monroe County Fair. The entry fee is $50 and includes free admission to the fair for the contestant and two guests. Proceeds from the pageant benefit the Monroe County Fair and the Miss Greater Rochester Scholarship Organization.
