Students receive McGrath charitable foundation scholarships
Four Brockport High School seniors are the first recipients of the Margaret A. McGrath Charitable Foundation scholarships. The Foundation Scholarship Fund was established in October 2004. McGrath devoted 37 years to teaching and retired from the Penfield Central School District as the chairwoman of the business department.
Three students received The Marie Dollard McGrath Elementary Education Scholarship: Mindy Bader, $4,00; Jennifer Trenton, $2,000; and Nicole Poupore, $2,000. The scholarship honors McGrath's mother, Marie Dollard McGrath, who taught elementary students in the City of Rochester and is given to students majoring in elementary education at an accredited college or university.
Christina Chinappi received the Philip and Margaret Dollard Business scholarship for $2,000. The scholarship honors McGrath's grandparents, Philip and Margaret Dollard, who operated a business in Hamlin and is given to a student majoring in business at an accredited college or university.
