Hamlin fire deemed suspicious
A fire destroyed a home on Railroad Avenue in Hamlin early Saturday morning, June 25. The occupants of the single family home had been evicted recently, leaving the building vacant.
Assistant Chief Tom Sercu reported flames showing from the roof when he arrived on scene. Fire in the basement burned several large holes in the floor and extended upward to all floors and roof. Brockport, Walker and Morton provided assistance. The fire investigation continues. Hamlin Ambulance provided EMS and rehab service.
