Hilton announces road closures,
advises caution during upcoming carnival
On Wednesday, July 27 from 6:15 p.m. to approximately 8 p.m., the following roads will be closed to all traffic in the village of Hilton for the Hilton Fire Department Kiddie Parade: South Avenue from Raintree Lane to Main Street and West Avenue between South Avenue and Collamer Road.
On Thursday, July 28 from 6:45 p.m. to approximately 9 p.m., the following roads will be closed to all traffic in the village of Hilton for the Hilton Fire Department Grant Parade: South Avenue from Raintree Lane to Main Street and West Avenue between South Avenue and Collamer Road.
Alternate routes must be taken if you are traveling through Hilton on Routes 18 and 259 during these events.
The Hilton Firemen's Carnival will run from Wednesday, July 27 to Saturday, July 30. Traffic control officers from the Parma Special Police will be on duty to direct traffic from 5 p.m. to midnight each night along South Avenue. Use extreme caution and expect delays during these times. Be prepared to stop unexpectedly and heed all instructions from the officers directing traffic.
The Parma Special Police is a volunteer department of the Town of Parma. The unit assists various agencies and organizations during town events, parades and emergencies by providing crowd, traffic control and other services. All members are sworn New York State Peace Officers who are trained at the Monroe County Public Safety Training Facility.
